Sunday messages often carry more than just words; they offer moments of connection, reflection, and growth. These messages invite us to pause, consider our lives, and find meaning in shared experiences. This post summarizes a recent Sunday message to help you connect more deeply with its themes and apply its insights in your daily life.

The Power of Connection in Sunday Messages
Sunday, 11-30-25, we read Proverbs 30:7-9 and Philippians 4:10-13. Proverbs talks about asking God to help bring balance into ones life and Philippians talks about how Paul was able to accept support when needed but to also be content in all circumstances.
Time was taken to have an open discussion on what these verses meant to individuals.
One shared that in their time of need God has blessed them in ways they could never imagine. Another shared they would like to have enough to live on as well as give to others in need. Each person that wanted to share was given time. Our time of discussion is truly powerful in how it increases not only our connection to each other but our connection to God and how he truly does work in each person's life.
Reflecting on Personal Growth
We were all encouraged to take time this week to continue to be thankful, grateful and to pray for Declaration Church each day. To pray specifically for direction and wisdom and for whomever will be our pastor.
12/15/2025
I missed sharing about out message from 12/7/2025 so here is a short review. Our message was on "Christmas Legends"
As we looked at the various ways that people celebrated the birth of Jesus Christ the one that stood out for me was St. Nicholas from Greece. The USA "Santa Claus" has a close connection to this person. St. Nicholas was real. He was a Christian and once he became a Christian his goal was to help those in need. Since I became a Christian I have had a hard time connecting with the Santa Claus idea but once I heard about St. Nicholas I now have a different view. I believe the original intent was to not only celebrate the greatest gift of all - the birth of Jesus who's gift is forgiveness and eternal salvation through his birth and death on the cross - but to help others in need. I love to get gifts but I mostly love to give to others.
My prayer for you today is that you are able to see the gift giving process as an extension of how we can help others while on planet earth.
Reflecting on Personal Growth
Our Challenge this week was to pray for those that will participate in an upcoming community event (see activity section on this web site) so that those who attend will have a new way to see how Jesus can be special in their home this Christmas.
As for our meeting yesterday 12/14/2025, we had a different event. Those of us on the board spent time in prayer and discussion on how to honor God with the funds that are donated to the church. Our final challenge is to continue to honor God, help those in need and to bring messages to people in our community each week.
Please check in again next week to get a review of our 12/21/2025 message.
12/21/2025 - Today's message was awesome. We took time to look at Matthew 1:18-25. The major focus was on vs 21 where it identifies the reason for the birth of Jesus. He came to "save his people from their sins." there were multiple other places where it talks about sin - Romans 3:22-23, Ephesians 2:1-4. In our humanness we tend to want to fix what is wrong. We can learn how to stop sinning but we will truly never stop until we are with Jesus in heaven. We concluded as we talked about the power of Jesus to forgive all sin for everyone. His sacrifice is greater then we could ever imagine. God's love not only for His son but for the entire human race is also hard for human's to imagine.
Reflecting on Personal Growth
Our challenge this week was to spend time to really focus on the love of Jesus and for what He did for us. Without Jesus there would not be any hope.
May you all have a very blessed celebration for the greatest gift of all - the forgiveness of sin through the birth, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ.
We have one more Sunday in December. I hope to update this before the 1st of the year with the information from Sunday 12/28/2025.
Well I didn't get to the update. With the holidays and some medical challenges and appointments time has gone by fast but I am back.
12/28/2025 - This Sunday's message was a focus of being asked to do something and then being human and doing something out of character. We looked first in Ex 3:10 where God tells Moses that he will go to the Pharaoh and ask him to let God's people go. Many know this story well but the focus verse today was verse 12 where God promises that He will be with Moses and gave Moses a sign that the message was from God. In Ex 4:10-12 Moses tells God why he is not the one for the job and asks God to pick someone else. In 2 Sam 11:1-27 - This is the story of how God dealt with David after his sin with Bathsheba and her husband Uriah. David was able to admit his sin but there were still consequences. In Luke 22:54-62 we are told how Peter denied Christ just as Christ had told him. There are themes in these events - Failure (sin) - Encounter with God - Transformation - Renewed Purpose. We are encouraged to recognize that no one is perfect but that doesn't mean God cannot use them.
Reflecting on Personal Growth:
We are encouraged to look at our own life and really look to see if your life choices are aligned with God's life choices for you. Talk with someone you trust and talk to them about how they see you and the choices you are making. It is okay to be off beat - the important part is to get back on track. Ask for help if you need it. We are all on a life journey that has hills and valleys and there are times when God's people help each other along the way.
Just to let you know one of my delays is also whether or not to start a new blog for 2026 or just continue with this one. My decision has been to start a new blog. Same format just a slightly new focus. I pray you had a glorious celebration of our Lord and Savior and that 2026 will bring spiritual growth to you and those you love.
